Dr. Stephanie Ahmed is a nationally recognized nurse leader and consultant dedicated to fostering healthy work environments. As President and Senior Nurse Consultant for Apex-Rx Nursing Excellence Solutions, she leverages her extensive expertise to guide organizations to successful achievement of Pathway to Excellence designation and ANCC Well-Being Excellence™ Certification. Her mission is to transform healthcare settings by promoting staff well-being and advancing nursing practices into evidence-based, outcomes-driven models of care, all rooted in the principles of human caring.

With over two decades of clinical experience at prestigious Harvard-affiliated hospitals, including Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Stephanie has developed a deep understanding of the complexities within diverse healthcare settings. She has held various leadership roles, including Health System Associate Chief Nurse Executive, Executive Director for Clinical Effectiveness, Magnet Recognition Program® Appraiser and independent consultant for organizations pursuing Pathway to Excellence® designation and pursuit of the ANCC’s newest credential, Well-Being Excellence™. 

Dr. Ahmed completed a post-doctoral fellowship with internationally renowned nurse theorist Jean Watson, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, at the Watson Caring Science Institute®. This transformative experience deepened her commitment to fostering nurse engagement and innovation, ensuring healthcare environments not only enhance patient care outcomes through meaningful connections between nurses and patients, but also foster staff well-being. Her holistic approach positions her as a thought leader in developing supportive, evidence-based frameworks that empower nurses and improve organizational performance.
